You all are welcome to the second video of Bake with Shanu youtube channel In the first video, I gave you the receipe for 100 pieces of Golden wedding Cakes and, I showed you how to make that fruit mixture first. In this second video, I am going to tell you, how to prepare and ready for baking. If you haven’t watch the first video, Please watch it right now. Otherwise you will not understand this second video clearly Ok, then we will start now Here is the fruit mixture that I made in the first video It doesn’t contain cashew nuts The reason is when we are making fruit mixture, We don’t add cashew nuts. The cashew nuts should add just before baking. Another important this is that, if this fruit mixture is dry, you can add some jam or honey/golden syrup again that is optional Now we will see, how to add cashew nuts. Please take clean and dry cashews for this. Cut them into pieces the sizes you need. But, I would like to suggest cut them into medium sized pieces. Because it makes the cake look nice. Then put those pieces on a pan and heat them a little. or you can put it in an oven and heat it a bit But don’t overheat them If so, the cashews will be blackened. Then add that heated cashew nuts to the fruit mixture & stir well. Now we will see what are the ingredients we need for bake. I have just mentioned here the amounts for 100 pieces. Butter/ Margering 500g, Sugar 500g, Semolina 500, Egg Yolk 20, Egg Whites 10 In this video I am not going to make 100 pieces. I am going to make only around 15-20 pieces. But the mentioned recipes in both of these videos are for 100 pieces. Then we will start to prepare the mixture for baking. Butter/ Margerine Semolina Sugar Egg Yolks Half of Egg Whites (see the recipe) rest egg whites (put refrigerator for almond paste) when talking about semolina, check those are fresh and clean. use a strainer for clean semolina further. After that, put it on a pan and heat a little. or put it into the oven and heat a bit. Don’t overheat them. We need egg yolks for prepare the mixture for baking. But we need half of egg whites for baking mixture. If any doubt, please refer the recipe again. Other half of egg whites, we use for making the almond paste. Until then, we can put those in a refrigerator. When you separate egg whites, don’t mix egg yolks to it. Firstly, put half of sugar to the egg whites and stir well by using a beater. use the beater in medium speed. No need to stir until become fluffy. Nextly, put butter/margarine and rest of sugar and stir them also. use the beater in medium speed. When slightly stirred, put egg yolks one by one and again continue the stirring by beater. Now, put semolina little by little and fold the mixture. Don’t put all semolina at once. Don’t use the beater again. Another import thing is that, don’t put hot semolina to this mixture. Let the semolina become cool and then add to the mixture. Now put this mixture to the fruit mixture and stir well. Well remember an another important thing, Don’t use wet ingredients or things when preparing this cake. If so, the cake will quickly spoil. Now, put the sugar and egg white mixture which we made and keep earlier. and again stir well. We use this type of low height baking tray for this cake. The reason is, we don’t put the cake too high on the tray. If so, middle of the cake may not bake well. Put six normal papers on the baking tray After that put a oil paper on that. Now, put the cake mixture on the tray. Spread it on the tray slowly When this mixture is ready, the oven should be Pre-heated. Pre heat the oven in 20 minutes, 150 degree Celsius. Bake the cake around one and half hour, 125 – 150 degree Celsius. Duration and heat depend on the type of oven. Don’t use high heat for bake this cake. Another tip is, bake this cake in low temperature in long duration. Color should be golden brown color. After the cake is baked, let it become cool After that, break it into small pieces. It would be good to have at least a day before cutting pieces. In next video, I will tell you how to make almond paste and, how to make nice cake pieces like this.
