Marketing Monday: Encouraging Engagement

Hi everyone. I’m Marshal Carper, and it’s
time for Marketing Monday. One of the questions I get a lot from my clients and from the people who watch these videos and are my email list is “How can we get
our fans to be more engaged with our brand? “How can we get them to share more of our content, to participate more?” There’s a lot that goes into building
engagement, but one of the key things that you can do is to model the
behaviors that you want your audience to adopt. Quick example: if you want your
fans to post photos of themselves with your products or them using your
services, then you should make part of your social media cadence, part your
social media calendar, to share that kind of content. Once your fans see that
you’re sharing that kind of content, they’re more likely to adopt that and
start developing that kind of content themselves, which you can then reshare.
And then you kind of create this pretty powerful cycle that grows and grows and
grows, month after month. If you don’t have that
kind of participation now, what you can do is you can sow the seeds to make it
happen. If you want people to take photos of your products, sponsor a few
influencers, do a few product giveaways and have them create photos for you and
start pushing that flywheel. It might take some time, but a lot of times your
fans aren’t going to do something unless you show them that it’s valued and that
there’s some kind of reward for doing it, and recognition is a big reward — if a
brand you love reshares your post a photo that you created about their
products. I hope that helps if you have any questions. Feel free to reach
out. Otherwise, I’ll see you next week.
